Where Do You Want To Live?

One of the first decisions you will make when heading to university or college is where you will seek student accommodation.

There are a number of factors you will need to bear in mind, such as proximity to your education provider and ease of transport links. After all, no one wants to be lumbered with a difficult and lengthy commute if they can help it.

Another thing you will need to take into account if you are looking for student property in London or elsewhere around the UK is the price of the area. Some districts are more expensive than others and, while it may be pleasant to live in areas at the higher end of the scale, this may simply stretch you beyond your means.

A common approach adopted by those seeking student homes is to look for places where their peers congregate.

This may be something you are keen to do, as it means you will be well served by takeaways, shops and pubs and may be close to your friends.

However, there are a number of potential drawbacks to this strategy. For example, the security in such places can be inferior because there is less likely to be neighbourhood watch schemes in place.

Also, if you are keen to knuckle down to do your work, you may find yourself disturbed by revellers at all times of the day and night.

As long as you put sufficient research into your choice of student accommodation, you should manage to find a location that suits your requirements.
