Consideration Works Both Ways

When you move into student accommodation, it is likely that the habits of some of those around you will drive you crazy.

Some people may be incapable of picking up their own mess, while others may be obsessively tidy.

Meanwhile, you might be unlucky enough to move into student property with someone who has just discovered a passion for spinning the decks in the small hours of the morning.

On the other hand, you may be sharing with someone who cannot stand any noise at all after ten o’clock at night.

Then there are those culinary geniuses who have a penchant for setting off the fire alarm or creating gastronomic monstrosities that turn your stomach each time you go near the kitchen.

This can be frustrating and you have to find a way of approaching the subject diplomatically.

After all, as annoying as they may be, you do not want to start a war with them or lose the possibility of being friends with them.

Another thing to bear in mind when you are being driven crazy by others is that it is just possible that you have some annoying traits of your own.

By taking this into consideration, your anger may be tempered and your might have a more reasonable approach to the problems.

One way in which you can find out if this is the case, as well as raising your issues with others in a non-hostile way, is to arrange a flat or house meeting.

So, if you live in student homes in Bristol or residences in other places around the country, remember, as well as expecting consideration from others, you should also demonstrate it yourself.
